Shortlands Area Guide

Welcome to Shortlands!

  • Shortlands is located between Beckenham and Bromley.
  • Unlike Beckenham and Bromley, Shortlands hosts a slightly more "village feel" rather than that of a town, and has a very close community.
  • The area hosts a small selection of shops, as well as the famous "Shortlands Tavern" - which some consider one of the best pubs in Bromley.
  • Shortlands has a train station that offers direct links into London Victoria & Blackfriars.
  • Beckenham & Bromley town centres are just a fifteen minute walk either side from Shortlands.
  • As an alternative to walking, the train is just two minutes either side to Beckenham & Bromley.
  • Shortlands also accommodates and highly regarded 18-hole golf course which has been in existence for over 125 years.
  • Enid Blyton (1897-1968), children's author, is commemorated by a blue plaque on 83 Shortlands Road where she lived part of her life.
  • Next to the Shortlands Tavern lies Queensmead - a large green space often made use by the community for outdoor classes, bowls, and other sports.
